ProxyBar privacy policy
last updated: May 15, 2026
overview
ProxyBar is a macOS menu bar application that connects to your self-hosted Traefik instance and displays its HTTP router domains. Your privacy is straightforward: ProxyBar does not collect, transmit, or store any data outside of your own machine.
data stored locally
ProxyBar stores the following data locally on your Mac:
- Traefik API URL — saved in
UserDefaults, stored on-device only. - Basic Auth password — saved in your macOS Keychain, encrypted and accessible only to ProxyBar.
- Auto-refresh preference — saved in
UserDefaults, stored on-device only.
network requests
ProxyBar makes outbound network requests exclusively to the Traefik API URL you configure. No requests are made to any third-party server, analytics service, or Assie infrastructure. The app has no telemetry, crash reporting, or usage tracking of any kind.
clipboard
When you tap a domain or press the copy button, the domain name is written to your macOS clipboard. This is a deliberate user action and is not logged or transmitted anywhere.
third-party services
ProxyBar does not integrate with any third-party SDKs, analytics platforms, or advertising networks.
changes
If this policy changes in a future release, the updated date at the top of this file will reflect that. Significant changes will be noted in the release notes.
